Review by a Growth Engineer

My verdict: the ultimate daily driver AI, unbeatable value for money.

ChatGPT is the AI Swiss army knife: web browsing, data analysis, image generation (DALL-E), and a very solid model (GPT-4o).

It's less 'refined' than Claude on some complex topics, but for $20/month, the offer is incredible. It's the ultimate daily driver.

What I like less: sometimes less accurate than Claude on complex reasoning or advanced coding. GPT-4o can be 'lazy' on code at times.

My advice: ChatGPT Plus is the obvious entry point for daily AI use. If you have more demanding reasoning or coding needs, complement with Claude. Both are complementary.

Why add it to your stack?

It's my daily driver for everything research, brainstorming, and varied tasks. Less refined than Claude on complex reasoning, but the versatility and price make it the default tool.

The detailed verdict

Do I really need this?

ChatGPT has become very useful for many professionals, but 'indispensable' is an exaggeration. It's a versatile tool for research, analysis, and creation, but it doesn't replace human expertise.

Alternatives exist (Claude, Gemini) and are sometimes better depending on the case. ChatGPT remains the default through its ecosystem, but it's not a critical tool - you can do without.

Does it play nice with my stack?

The integration ecosystem is the most developed. The API is robust and well-documented. Custom GPTs allow creating specialized assistants. Plugins (even if limited) add functionality.

Native Zapier/Make integrations. SDKs in all languages. It's the easiest AI to integrate into an existing stack.

Is it easy to pick up?

Getting started is immediate. You ask a question, you get an answer. No learning curve, no configuration needed.

Advanced features (Custom GPTs, API) require a bit more exploration but remain accessible. Support and documentation are excellent.

Is the UX any good?

ChatGPT's UX is generally good. The interface is simple and conversations are fluid. However, history management quickly becomes a mess when you have hundreds of conversations - no folders, basic search.

Custom GPTs are practical but organization leaves something to be desired. The mobile app is solid, the desktop version decent but nothing revolutionary.

Is it worth it?

ChatGPT Plus's value for money is unbeatable. $20/month for unlimited GPT-4o, DALL-E 3, web browsing, file analysis... It's ridiculously cheap for what you get.

The free plan already allows serious testing. The API is competitive for integrations. OpenAI is slashing prices and it shows.

What I like

  • Versatile daily driver for research, brainstorming, and varied daily tasks
  • Unbeatable value for money with web browsing, images, and data analysis included
  • Everyone, from solopreneurs to sales to marketing teams

What I like less

  • Very complex reasoning where Claude is often better and more nuanced
  • Advanced coding where Claude remains more precise and rigorous in its responses
  • Critical tasks where GPT-4o can sometimes be lazy on code
