Scraper no code

PhantomBuster

The veteran of LinkedIn scraping with pre-configured Phantoms for easy automation. A bit 'old tech' now but still useful for quick tinkering without coding. Watch out for LinkedIn ban risks if misused.

My verdict: the veteran that has been surpassed.

PhantomBuster remains useful for quick tinkering, but it's no longer the reference it was. It's clearly 'old tech' now. I don't really use it anymore, there are plenty of better options today. It's still acceptable for 'tinkering' with LinkedIn cheaply and easily if you just want a quick script without coding, but it's no longer the reference.

What I like less: the tool hasn't evolved much in years. LinkedIn bans are frequent if you're not careful with limits. And for serious and high-volume scraping, other solutions are clearly more robust and reliable.

My advice: use PhantomBuster for quick tests or prototyping. For serious and high-volume LinkedIn scraping, look at Evaboot, Captain Data, or build something custom with Apify. And watch out for LinkedIn limits to avoid bans.

Why add it to your stack?

I don't really use it anymore, but it's still useful for quick tests and LinkedIn tinkering.

The detailed verdict

Do I really need this?

It's no longer indispensable at all. Other tools do better now, like Evaboot or Captain Data. I don't really use it in my regular workflows anymore.

Does it play nice with my stack?

API and webhooks available, the ecosystem is mature. It's one of the rare points where PhantomBuster still holds up thanks to its seniority.

Is it easy to pick up?

Pre-configured Phantoms make getting started easy. That's the strong point for beginners who want to quickly test a LinkedIn scraping idea.

Is the UX any good?

The interface has clearly aged. Phantoms are practical for starting but the UX hasn't evolved much in years. You can tell the tool is no longer a development priority.

Is it worth it?

69 dollars per month is fair for easy LinkedIn scraping. But frankly, there are more powerful and more robust alternatives now. The pricing hasn't evolved while the relative value has decreased.

What I like

  • Tinker with LinkedIn cheaply with pre-configured Phantoms
  • Quick scripts without code for beginners in scraping
  • Quick prototypes to test an idea before building something robust

What I like less

  • It's old tech now with a UX that hasn't evolved much
  • There are better and more robust options like Evaboot or Captain Data
  • Watch out for LinkedIn bans if you're not careful with limits
