Data Enrichment

Hunter

The pioneer of professional email search, still reliable for finding company email patterns. Value for money has decreased against competition that has enriched itself. There are better tools today for volume enrichment.

Review by a Growth Engineer

My verdict: the pioneer that has been caught up by the market.

Hunter remains a safe bet for finding email patterns quickly, but value for money has decreased against competition that has enriched itself. It's become an occasional tool more than a stack pillar.

What I like less: pricing that hasn't evolved while competition offers more for less. The database isn't as large as some competitors. And for personal emails, it's not the right tool.

My advice: use the free plan (25 searches/month) for occasional needs. For volume enrichment, look at Dropcontact, Icypeas, or waterfall solutions like Fullenrich. Hunter remains reliable for finding an email pattern quickly, but should no longer be your main enrichment tool.

Why add it to your stack?

I use it occasionally to quickly find a company's email pattern. For volume enrichment, I prefer other solutions like Dropcontact or waterfall approaches with Icypeas/Enrow.

What you can do with it

  • 1Type a domain and discover the email format used (firstname.lastname@, f.lastname@, etc.)
  • 2Find a person's professional email from their name and company
  • 3Verify if an email is valid before using it
  • 4Integrate email search into your workflows via the API

What it does

  • Domain Search (find email patterns)
  • Email Finder (find a person's email)
  • Email Verifier
  • Basic email campaigns
  • API and integrations

How much?

Starting at 0

Free plan (25 searches/month), then starting at 49 euros/month.

The detailed verdict

Do I really need this?

It was essential a few years ago. Today, it's one tool among others, easily replaceable by cheaper or more complete alternatives. The market has evolved, Hunter hasn't.

Does it play nice with my stack?

The API is reliable and well-documented. Integrates with all market tools. It's mature and stable, a historical strong point.

Is it easy to pick up?

Ultra simple. You type a domain or a name, you get your answer. No learning curve, anyone can use it.

Is the UX any good?

The interface is clean, simple, efficient. No frills. That's one of Hunter's strong points: you type, you get the answer.

Is it worth it?

49 euros/month for 500 searches is getting expensive. Other tools offer more for less now. Pricing hasn't evolved while the market has enriched with aggressive competitors like Icypeas or Dropcontact.

What I like

  • Convenient for finding company email patterns quickly
  • The API is reliable and well-documented for integrations
  • Useful for occasional email verification with the free plan

What I like less

  • Value for money has become less interesting against competition
  • Not suitable for personal emails, only professional
  • There's better on the market now for high-volume use
