Scraper no code

Octoparse

A no-code scraping powerhouse for extracting data at scale. The UI is austere but you can scrape EVERYTHING with it, even complex JavaScript sites. The price is reasonable for this level of power.

My verdict: the no-code scraping powerhouse.

Octoparse doesn't have the sexiest interface, but it's an ultra-powerful tool that can scrape practically anything. The UI is frankly austere and dated, but it's a powerhouse.

It's an excellent way to scrape at scale without bothering with orchestration and hosting scrapers. You can scrape EVERYTHING with it. It's very powerful and for me it's an indispensable tool for advanced no-code scraping. However, the price remains significant for occasional needs.

What I like less: the dated interface that really looks like "old software". The learning curve is steep for beginners. Workflows quickly become complex to maintain. And for simple scrapes, it's clearly overkill.

My advice: invest time to learn Octoparse if you have regular and complex scraping needs. For simple and one-off scrapes, look at Instant Data Scraper or Pronto. If you know how to code, Puppeteer or Playwright will give you more control.

The detailed verdict

Do I really need this?

For advanced no-code scraping, it's one of the most complete. Hard to do without when you have serious needs. But for simple scrapes, it's clearly overkill.

Does it play nice with my stack?

Export to Excel, CSV, databases. API available for automation in your workflows. However, native integrations with other tools are limited.

Is it easy to pick up?

The learning curve is frankly steep. Expect several hours of struggle before mastering the basics. Workflows can become complex quickly.

Is the UX any good?

The interface is frankly austere and dated. It looks like software from the 2010s. It's powerful but the user experience leaves something to be desired. Navigation is sometimes confusing and unintuitive.

Is it worth it?

89 dollars per month for unlimited cloud scraping is reasonable compared to the alternative of developing and hosting yourself. But it remains expensive for occasional needs, and the free plan is very limited.

What I like

  • Scraping at scale without managing infrastructure and hosting
  • Raw power to scrape any site even the most complex ones
  • Reasonable price for professional no-code scraping

What I like less

  • Austere and dated interface that lacks modernity
  • Real learning curve to master the basics
  • Not suitable for simple scrapes where Instant Data Scraper is enough
