Data Enrichment

Clearbit

The US reference for enterprise B2B enrichment with complete firmographic data and native integrations. Company Reveal to identify web visitors and qualify leads in real-time. Very expensive but powerful for the American and international market.

Review by a Growth Engineer

My verdict: powerful for the US market, but very expensive and less effective in Europe.

Clearbit is good especially for those targeting a US or international market. Data is complete, integrations are excellent.

It's much less effective in Europe. I don't necessarily recommend it: it's very expensive. But if you want to directly target an international audience, it remains a reference.

What I like less: opaque and very high pricing, reduced effectiveness on the European market. Since the HubSpot acquisition, the product strategy is less clear.

My advice: if you target the US market with a substantial budget and use Salesforce/HubSpot, Clearbit can make sense. For the French market, look at Dropcontact. For international at lower cost, explore Datagma or Apollo.

Why add it to your stack?

Clearbit is the reference for B2B enrichment on the US market. Firmographic data is complete, the API is fast, CRM integrations are native. Reveal for identifying companies visiting your site is powerful.

But it's very expensive, and much less effective in Europe. If you target the French market, Dropcontact is better. Clearbit makes sense for teams targeting an international or US audience.

What you can do with it

  • 1Automatically enrich leads in Salesforce/HubSpot
  • 2Identify companies visiting your site with Reveal
  • 3Qualify leads in real-time with firmographic data
  • 4Score leads based on company characteristics
  • 5Reduce form fields with automatic enrichment

What it does

  • Complete firmographic enrichment

  • Native Salesforce/HubSpot integration
  • Real-time API
  • Intent signals data
  • Automatic forms enrichment

How much?

Starting at On request

Opaque pricing, on request. Expect several thousand dollars per month for serious use. Acquired by HubSpot in 2023, some features are included in HubSpot.

The detailed verdict

Do I really need this?

For US sales teams using Salesforce/HubSpot, Clearbit is almost indispensable. Automatic enrichment and Reveal are real differentiators.

But for the European market, cheaper alternatives (Dropcontact, Datagma) are often more effective. Clearbit isn't universal.

Does it play nice with my stack?

Native CRM integrations are the strong point - Salesforce and HubSpot work without complex configuration. The API is real-time, webhooks work.

However, since the HubSpot acquisition, Salesforce integration seems less of a priority. If you're not in the HubSpot ecosystem, alternatives become more interesting.

Is it easy to pick up?

Getting started depends on your setup. With HubSpot, it's plug-and-play. With Salesforce or other CRMs, you need to configure field mappings and enrichment rules.

The API requires technical skills, and documentation isn't always up to date since the acquisition. Allow a few hours for proper setup.

Is the UX any good?

Clearbit's UX is decent for enterprise SaaS. Integration with Salesforce/HubSpot works, dashboards are readable but not particularly innovative.

The API is documented, SDKs exist. But since the HubSpot acquisition, some parts of the product seem less maintained. The experience isn't as smooth as before.

Is it worth it?

Clearbit's value for money is hard to justify for SMBs. Pricing is opaque (on request), and costs quickly climb to several thousand dollars per month.

Since the HubSpot acquisition, some features are included in HubSpot plans - check what's already available before paying extra.

What I like

  • US and international market with high-quality firmographic data
  • Large companies using Salesforce or HubSpot with native integration
  • Real-time enrichment to qualify leads as soon as they're created

What I like less

  • European market where Clearbit is less effective than local alternatives like Dropcontact
  • SMBs and tight budgets as pricing is opaque and very high
  • Teams that want pricing transparency before committing
