My verdict: French Open Data with a beautiful UX.
Pappers makes French legal data accessible without tinkering. Practical, but you pay for comfort. It's very good, but with a bit of tinkering, you can retrieve most of the data via Open Data directly and for free. So it's cool if you don't want to bother. However, it's still expensive for repackaged Open Data if you have the technical skills.
What I like less: the pricing for repackaged Open Data is the main pain point. If you know how to use the SIRENE API or data.gouv.fr, you can have the same data for free. And it's limited to the French market, no international data.
My advice: use the free version for occasional searches. If you have regular enrichment needs and don't have the time or skills for Open Data, the pricing can be justified. Otherwise, learn to use the SIRENE API directly.
