Review by a Growth Engineer

My verdict: getting back to basics that work.

After testing Arc, Brave, and other "innovative" browsers, Chrome remains the one I come back to when I need things to work, plain and simple. It's reliable, it works all the time, it's compatible with everything.

What I like less: it's Google, so privacy isn't the strong point. Chrome is RAM-hungry, especially with many open tabs. And in terms of UX innovation, it's fairly static.

My advice: use Chrome as a reliable base for your work. If you want to experiment with Arc or Brave for personal use, go ahead. But keep Chrome installed for when you need things to work, no questions asked.

Why add it to your stack?

It's getting back to basics that work. After testing all the 'revolutionary' browsers, Chrome remains the most reliable for daily work. The Growth/Sales extension ecosystem is unmatched: all scraping, enrichment, and automation tools have a Chrome extension first.

  • 2Access the richest extension ecosystem: scraping, enrichment, automation, everything is there
  • 3Use Chrome DevTools, the reference for debugging and web optimization
  • 4Sync your bookmarks, passwords, and extensions across all your devices

What it does

  • Maximum compatibility with all websites
  • Massive extension ecosystem
  • Powerful DevTools for developers

The detailed verdict

Do I really need this?

In the Growth/Ops world, most extensions are only on Chrome. It's become an almost mandatory standard. You can have another browser alongside, but Chrome must be there.

Does it play nice with my stack?

Perfect sync with Google account, Chrome extensions for everything, integrated DevTools. The ecosystem is unbeatable. The entire web universe is optimized for Chrome.

Is it easy to pick up?

Installation in 2 minutes, no configuration needed. Everyone knows how to use Chrome. It's become the universal standard.

Is the UX any good?

The interface is clean, no frills. Not the most innovative, but efficient. Tabs, address bar, everything works as expected. No surprises.

Is it worth it?

It's free, it works perfectly. Hard to do better in terms of value for money. You pay with your data, but that's the deal with Google.

What I like

  • Perfect for everyone with maximum reliability and universal compatibility
  • DevTools are the reference for developers
  • The extension ecosystem for Growth and Ops is unbeatable

What I like less

  • Beware if you're privacy-conscious since it's Google
  • Very RAM-hungry especially with many open tabs
  • Not suitable if you want a different and innovative browsing experience
